Highclere is a very popular village to the south-west of Newbury on the Berkshire/Hampshire borders and best known for its Castle – otherwise known as Downton Abbey – which lies on the edge of the village. Highclere itself has a busy and popular pub, a church, and a village hall hosting numerous activities. Together with the neighbouring villages of Woolton Hill and Ball Hill you can find primary schools, doctor’s surgery, post office/stores, garage and garden centre with more comprehensive facilities to be found in the market town of Newbury.
