North End and East Woodhay are small villages in the North Hampshire, about 6 miles to the south-west of Newbury, close to the village of Highclere. There are some good local pubs, as well as a church and a C of E primary school nearby. Malverleys Farm, a well-regarded restaurant and coffee shop is within easy reach. The walking and riding in the area is simply superb, with the popular Combe Gibbett landmark being within sight. With its large open market square and numerous pubs, the bustling market town of Newbury is suffused in history. But what you might not know is that contemporary Newbury is home to a fresh and energetic vibe, stoked by some great independent shopping, a sparkling array of nearby dining options and a thriving café culture. If that wasn’t enough, its locality to outstanding schools, great leisure facilities and abundant footpaths, mean the town is fast becoming West Berkshire’s most sought after small town. Andover lies 13 miles away, situated on the River Anton which is a major source of the Test. It has excellent communications with a main line station to Waterloo as well as road access via the A303 and M3. There are a number of excellent state and independent schools in the area and road communications, via the A34, are fantastic.
