The AreaFarmington

As villages go in the Cotswolds, there would be few as desirable Farmington nestled amongst attractive countryside.

The delightful Cotswold town of Northleach is 1.4 miles to the south. The streets in and around the ancient Market Place are rich in architectural interest ranging from half-timbered buildings and merchants’ houses dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, to the great House of Correction built at the crossroads in the 18th century. Walking through the town you can see reminders of the great days of the wool trade. Funded by wool merchants, the impressive church of St Peter and St Paul remains one of the finest examples of the Cotswold perpendicular style. The Town Centre (Market Place) is compact and completely unspoilt, having changed little since 1500, except for more ‘recent’ additions of the late 16th and 17th century buildings, which split apart to form The Green.

Most of the shops in Northleach are owned by independent proprietors – here you will find something for everyone. Northleach has a number of establishments offering quality accommodation plus a variety of places to eat and public houses.

The area is renowned for having a number of fantastic schools, both private, state and primary all being within easy driving distance. Road communications are fantastic to the A417/A419 and A40 which in turn provide access to London, via the M4/M40 and M5 to the west. Rail links are also good, with regular trains from both Kingham and Charlbury.

Farmington is within easy reach of Bourton-on-the-Water, Cheltenham, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Cirencester; all providing comprehensive shopping and recreational needs.

Bunkers Hill, FarmingtonAbout this home

Located in the most spectacular edge of village setting, overlooking beautiful countryside is the attractive Bunkers Hill.

Originally three cottages, the house was converted into a single house. In 2021, work was completed by the current owners who undertook a large renovation project, successfully creating the wonderful property which can be seen today. Bunkers Hill has a warm and inviting feel, with generously proportioned rooms – well suited for a family and modern day living.

The setting is, quite simply, amazing and there are views from all windows, taking full advantage of this special position. One of the key highlights is the impressive kitchen/breakfast room which is very much the heart of the home; two sets of bi-fold doors open onto a terrace forming a seamless link between the inside and out, a wonderful space to dine and entertain.
