Nestling in picturesque Cotswold countryside, with its desirable setting and attractive architecture – Broad Campden offers country living at its finest yet is only a stones throw from a wonderful market town. Close to Chipping Campden but very much with its own identity, Broad Campden is based around the influences of the Arts and Crafts movement. There is a rare 17th century Friends Meeting House and the Cotswold Way runs through the village. Many of Broad Campden’s cottage are thatched, which along with the honey coloured Cotswold stone, makes it an incredibly beautiful village.
Described by Pevsner as ‘the best piece of townscape in Gloucestershire, arguably one of the best in England’ Chipping Campden is only 1 mile away. The main street curves in a shallow arc and is lined with a succession of magnificent buildings, yet each having its own distinctive embellishments. A lively place, with most of the facilities of a small town Chipping Campden has a wide variety of shops and businesses, countless welcoming pubs, cafés, hotels, restaurants, a pharmacy, barber, hairdressers, library, Co-op convenience store, post office and doctors surgery.
For those who are keen on sport, there are great facilities including a leisure centre (Cotswold Leisure) with football pitches and tennis courts as well as a cricket club on the east of the town. If that wasn’t enough, Chipping Campden is home to the Campden Literature Festival, renowned annual Chipping Campden Music Festival and Open Gardens Weekend to name just a few.
Another attraction is the proximity to wonderful countryside walks as well as other wonderful towns such as Broadway and Moreton-in-Marsh, merely adding to the appeal of this superb area.
Broad Campden is equidistant between the popular towns of Cheltenham and Stratford both offering a variety of shops, an array of dining options, pubs and facilities.
There are a number of schools and nurserys in the area which cater for all ages and include Kiddy winks Chipping Campden, St Catherine’s Primary School and the popular Chipping Campden secondary school. There is a selection of good schools further afield which include Kitebrook Preparatory School, The Croft Preparatory School, Warwick Preparatory School and Ladies and Boys Colleges in Cheltenham.
